Gas pipeline for domestic use, PM Oli says

Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli on Friday said that he would bring an end to the phase of LPG cylinders by setting up gas pipeline for domestic use.

“(You) don’t need to run here and there carrying gas cylinders on (your) shoulders, cycles or motorcycles… I will end the cylinder phase and take gas pipeline to each kitchen and stove, ” the Prime Minister said, addressing a gathering of party cadres in Kathmandu today.

“Once you switch it on, the gas begins to flow through the pipe…there will not be any tension if the gas cylinders are delivered or at which shop…there will be metres on your wall and you can use it how much you like,” he added.

Oli, who had made a commitment to end the power crisis within a year, claimed that he would end the fuel crisis very soon.

Nepal is currently reeling under acute shortage of fuel, including cooking gas, and witnesses massive power crisis with load shedding reaching up to 14 hours a day.

He stressed on the use of alternative energy, instead of fossil fuel, and said, “Now there will not be smoke-emitting buses… I will operate electric buses in Kathmandu.”

Claiming that he is bringing in different projects for the country’s development, Oli, who is the chairman of the CPN-UML, vowed to implement them.
