Four property crimes in valley on Sunday

Police reported four incidents of property crime in Kathmandu valley on Sunday. 

Properties worth Rs 255,000 were stolen from an unattended house in KMC-3 yesterday. 

Police said an unidentified gang broke the lock at front door of house of Subash Singh Basnet at Milijuli Marga, KMC-3 and made off with a laptop, an iPad and other properties. 

Likewise, Rs 500,000 cash was stolen from the Ghantaghar-based MoneyGram International Money Transfer. 

The company jointly operated by Tenjing Sherpa of KMC-16 and Kami Chhiring Sherpa of Jorpati of the Capital was found to be burgled when its counter was opened yesterday morning, police said. 

The Money Transfer was closed on Saturday. 

In yet another case, an unidentified gang stole properties worth Rs 288,000 from a rented room of Ishwar Lal Shrestha in Teku, KMC-12.

The thieves made an access to the unattended room and took away gold ornaments weighing 2.75 tola and a wrist watch, police said. 

Shrestha was a permanent resident of Bidur Municipality-8, Nuwakot. 

Also yesterday, a building that housed a financial cooperative and a newspaper office was burgled in Gatthaghar of Bhaktapur.

The thieves took away two desktop computers from Bihani Saving and Credit Cooperative and two desktops and a laptop from office of the Desh weekly last night, police said.

The properties collectively amounted to Rs 128,000 according to police.

Investigations into all cases are underway.
