Four parties agree to promulgate new constitution by Aug 10

The four major political parties have made an understanding to promulgate new constitution by August 10 by incorporating genuine suggestions put forth by the public on draft constitution .

A meeting of senior leaders of major political parties—Nepali Congress, CPN-UML and UCPN (Maoist) and Madhesi Janaadhikar Forum—agreed to promulgate the new constitution at the earliest by suspending regular procedures in the Constituent Assembly.

The leaders are meeting with the CA Chairman Suban Nembang on Saturday morning to request him for formulating work calendar for the same. “We have made an understanding to promulgate constitution and endorse budgetary programs by August 10,” said Nepali Congress Vice-President Ram Chandra Poudel after the four-party meeting convened at the Prime Minister’s official residence in Baluwatar.
