In yet another incident of CIAA crackdown on corruption, an assistant forest officer of Jhapa district was caught red-handed while taking bribe on Tuesday.
A regional team of Commission for Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA) arrested officer Jeevan Pathak from Sitapur Fulbari restaurant at Beldangi in the district while taking Rs. 28,000 in bribe .
The anti graft body raided the restaurant where Pathak was collecting the bribe money from local furniture entrepreneur Gobinda Shrestha, assuring the latter of settling his pending case at the forest office.
CIAA eastern regional office chief Mahadev Panta informed that action will be taken against Pathak only after further investigation.
