Federation of Nepalese Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FNCCI), the umbrella organisation of private-sector businesses across the country, has urged to call off all bandhs and strikes.
Issuing a press statement on Sunday, the Federation said it is staggered by news that some political parties are planning to enforce bandhs soon.
Political parties should have paid their attention to constitution writing and leading the nation toward a brighter future, FNCCI commented, adding the bandh was against people’s wishes.
The umbrella organisation of Nepali private sector said it had frequently urged political parties to stop organising bandhs which essentially hamper national economy.
“Daily wage earners, foreign tourists, patients who need treatment, innocent school-going children, industrialists and businesspersons and labourers are directly hit by the strikes,” the statement read.
The Federation has also demanded that the government create an environment conducive to run businesses uninterruptedly.
