The Thamkharka Airport in Khotang district that remained closed from mid-May is all set to resume operation October 2.
Earlier, the Airport used to function only during the winter.
The Nepal Airlines Corporation (NAC) has made the new schedule public to operate flights regularly.
Station in-charge Narendra Udas of the Airport informed that the NAC, the only flight operator at the Airport, has planned to resume Thamkhark-Kathmandu flight on Tuesday and Saturday and Thamkhark-Biratnagar flight on Friday.
The NAC said the plan is developed in a view of the festive season.
After a commitment of the Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal (CAAN) for a financial help, the Thamkharka Airport has planned to black-top the runway to operate the flight in all seasons.
The Khotang district boasts three airports including the Thamkharka Airport that lies in the western part. It was established in1999.
People from more than 20 VDCs of the district as well as of neighbouring Bhojpur district will also be benefited by the airport.
