Five new trekking routes proposed to lure tourists

District authorities have put forward a proposal for opening five new routes for trekkers around Kalinchowk of Dolakha.

In order to tap the tourism potential of the district, District Development Committee (DDC) of Dolakha, as part of its recent five-year plan for promoting tourism in the district has forwarded a proposal to open five new trekking routes in Kalinchowk areas. The trekking packages developed and proposed by the DDC consist of routes with ranging from 45 minutes to six days.

Kalinchowk is famous for geographical and religious significance in the district. It is a place where the visitors and tourists long to trek. Once they reach an altitude of 3790 metres in Kalinchowk, they can enjoy breathtaking views of the Gauri Shankar mountain range.

Kalinchowk, famous for the temple of Kalinchowk Bhagwati, can be reached after a 40-minute uphill walk from Kuri Bazar, which is 17 km from Charikot, the district headquarters. Major attractions for trekkers in and around Kalinchowk include mountain range, peaks, hills and historic settlements.
