RAUTAHAT: The security authorities have begun highway patrol in consideration of the likelihood of incidents of fraud and robbery on passengers on the highway, in the wake of upcoming festivals.
Apart from regular highway patrols, the armed police base camp in Santapur will also mobilize security personnel inside passenger buses, especially those plying in the night, from Ghansar river to Paurai, according to DSP Biswa Bhattarai.
Two security patrol teams have been mobilized considering the huge influx of travelers in the lead up to the upcoming Dashain, Dipawali and Chhath festivals, added DSP Bhattarai.
Meanwhile, the District Traffic Office, Chandranigahapur has set up a passenger help desk at Chandrapur municipality-1 in order to address complaints of passengers.
The help desk set up at the main chowk of Chandrapur is expected to help passengers deal with their problems, said Traffic police inspector Shiva Mukhiya.
