A meeting of the Parliamentary International Relation and Labor Committee on Monday directed Ministry of Labor and Employment (MoLE) to enforce its ‘free-visa-free-ticket’ decision for Nepali migrant workers going only in those countries with which Nepal signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU).
The meeting of the committee also directed Minister of State for Labor and Employment, Tek Bahadur Gurung and Secretary Bhola Prasad Siwakoti to enforce the decision only after making necessary preparations.
The meeting also concluded that enforcement of the decision without prior necessary preparations could jeopardize Nepali labor demands.
The meeting, however, urged MoLE to strongly implement the decision to enforce free-visa-free-ticket for Nepali workers going in those countries with which Nepal has already signed labor pact.
It has also directed to take necessary initiations for signing labor pact with other labor destination countries.
Earlier, MoLE had decided not to send Nepali migrant workers to six Gulf countries and Malaysia without free visa and ticket.
