Eight children rescued

Police rescued eight children being taken to India illegally and arrested a middleman involved in trafficking them from Maliwara in Mahottari on Wednesday.

A patrol team from the District Police Office held Samerajul Ansari, Jubaid Nadaf, Saphik Ansari, Kalam Ansari, Ilfan Ansari, Anawar Ansari, all from Hatisarwa VDC-5 in Mahottari and Haribul Ansari and Jilani Akhtar of Ramadaiya-9 in Dhanusa.

Deputy Superintendent of Police Lokendra Shrestha said that the middleman Nadim Ansari, was trafficking the children between nine to 12 age-group with a promise to provide them jobs in a embroidery factory in Jaipur, India.

Meanwhile the rescued children have been handed over to their families, police said, adding that the middle man Nadim has been taken into custody and an investigation has been initiated in this connection. RSS
