The ´National Cultural Fest-2071´ is being held at Lumbini, the birthplace of Lord Gautam Buddha, by Nepal Academy of Music and Drama with an aim to spread the message of peace in the world on Sunday.
The Academy´s Vice Chancellor Shambujit Banskota said the festival was being organized to preserve and promote the diverse culture spanning the mountainous, hilly and Terai regions, and from Mechi to Mahakali at the Lumbini Bus Park premises.
At a press conference held in Bhairahawa on Saturday, Banskota said, “The festival being held at Lord Gautam Buddha´s birthplace in Lumbini at a time when the country has been aspiring for peace and prosperity is significant.” The festival will be inaugurated by Academy´s Chancellor Saru Bhakta.
In the festival, national and local singers will also be performing, said Academy Council member Udaya Shrestha. Traditional dances as Maruni Nritya, Hudkelli Nritya, Thalnaach, Kauda Ntritya, Lakhe Naach, Bhojpuri Ntritya, Thakali Ntritya, Tamang Nritya, Chyabrung and Sherpa Ntritya will be performed during the festival.
