Corruption cases against staff held with bribes

The Commission for Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA) on Monday filed two corruption cases at the Special Court against two Assistant Registrars of Office of the Company Registrar and a Land Revenue official, who were caught with bribes.

Kabita KC and Pushparaj Joshi of Office of the Company Registrar were booked for receiving Rs 2,000 and Rs 5,000 bribe respectively.

They were arrested by a CIAA team on Thursday.

Likewise, another charge-sheet has been filed against Kharidar (non-gazzetted officer) Bhawakrishna Bhattarai of Bhaktapur Land Revenue Office for receiving Rs 20,000 bribe.

Police on November 23 had arrested Bhattarai for receiving a kickback from six persons claiming that he would release passports seized by police for investigation.

The anti-corruption constitutional body has demanded actions against all of them as per Section 3 and 3(1a) of Anti-Corruption Act.
