Constable killed in Hetauda vehicle hit

A police constable was killed after a Tata Sumo hit the motorcycle he was riding on, in Hetauda of Makawanpur on Friday. 

Sohan Gurung (22), deployed at the Bhaise Police Post of Makawanpur district was riding pillion on the two-wheeler (Na 8 Pa 5356), being run by another constable Amar Thapa (26). 

The Tata SUV (Na 1 Ja 4543) hit the bike in ChaukiTole, Hetauda-1 at around 3 pm today, police said. 

The SUV was heading toward Hetauda from Kathmandu. 

Gurung was a permanent resident of Swarnapur-9, Parsa. 

Gurung died on the spot whereas Thapa sustained injuries, according to DSP Dipak Thapa. 

He said the injured Thapa is undergoing treatment at the Hetauda Hospital. 

Police confiscated the vehicle and arrested its driver for further investigation.
