The Central Investigation Bureau (CIB) of Nepal Police has urged people to remain alert to cyber frauds taking place after Saturday’s devastating earthquake . Some people have been found cheating others by posting false information and notices online about the collection of relief assistance in the name of disaster survivors.
The cases of hacking of email id, password and other confidential details have also increased after the disaster and internet users have been requested to be aware of this. Superintendent of Police Kiran Bajracharya has urged the users to avoid emails, texts and phone calls from unknown persons and false websites links making an appeal for financial aid in the name of the quake survivors.
