The Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA) has ordered the concerned government bodies to block the transaction of lands and other fixed assets belonging to Kanak Mani Dixit, chairman of Sajha Yatayat, situated in various parts of the country.
The CIAA in a statement issued on Thursday has said it took the step to investigate into various complaints filed against Dixit.
The CIAA has ordered the Ministry of Land Reforms and Management and other concerned government bodies to block the land transaction process as per its decision taken on Wednesday.
The anti-corruption body has decided to block land transaction of 48.12 bigha [32.59 hectares] of land at Dulari VDC-5 of Morong district, 7.12 bighas [4.82 hectares] in the same VDC, and 53.13 ropani [2.7 hectares] of land in Nighuradhin VDC of Taplejung district.
Similarly, it has blocked transaction of 5.2 ropani [0.26 hectare] of land in Lalitpur Sub-metropolitan city-3 which has been registered in the name of Jagadamba Press Pvt. Ltd and Madan Puraskar Pustakalaya run by Dixit’s family.
CIAA said that it will carry out further investigations into the land and it believed that they are public property and shouldn’t be transferred to any individual.
