The meeting of the Constituent Assembly (CA) fixed for Thursday has been postponed until June 8, in view of the ongoing bilateral and multilateral talks between the political parties.
The CA meeting had been called for 3:0 pm today. The CA Legislature-Parliament Secretariat issued a notice informing about the postponement.
Co-spokesman of the Secretariat Sudarshan Kuinkel said the Minister for Law, Justice, Constituent Assembly and Parliamentary Affairs Narahari Acharya had phoned the CA Chairman Subas Nembang before the notice was issued, urging him to put off the CA meeting for some days as the four major forces were holding discussions on the content of the new constitution.
Before this, the CA meeting scheduled for May 31 was postponed for June 4.
