Amidst sloganeering from four Madhesh-based parties, the Constituent Assembly (CA) endorsed a work plan on collecting public feedback on the draft of the new statute, with majority votes on Thursday afternoon.
Chairman of Citizens Relations and Constitution Feedback (CCRCF) presented the work plan before the CA. Now, lawmakers will head to districts to collect public feedback from July 16.
At the beginning of the meet, lawmaker of Sadhbhawana Party Laxman Lal Karna expressed disagreement stating that a short time was allocated to collect feedback.
After address by Karna, lawmakers from Federal Socialist Forum-Nepal, Tarai Madhesh Democratic Party, Sadhbhawana and Tarai Madhesh Sadhbhawana Party chanted slogans demanding extending time to gather feedback.
The CA meet continued amid protest after lawmakers refused CA Chairman Subas Nembang’s request to take their respective seats.
