The Constitution Assembly (CA) on Tuesday endorsed the preliminary draft of the new constitution. All the lawmakers except Rastirya Prajatantra Party-Nepal (RPP-N) expressed their support to the draft while the lawmakers of disgruntled Madhesi parties boycotted the CA meet.
CA Chairman Subas Nembang endorsed the draft after lawmakers expressed their views on the draft. Only RPP-Nepal lawmakers raised their hands against the draft.
According to lawmaker Rabindra Adhikari, 15 days have been allotted for garnering public opinion on the draft by selecting 240 lawmakers for the task.
At least two lawmakers will be sent to each constituency. The respective District Administration Office will make arrangements for their security and accommodation.
The lawmakers will prepare a report on the basis of feedback from people and submit it to Political Dialogue and consensus Committee.
Finally the draft will be submitted to Constitution Drafting Committee and later tabled at CA as a bill.
