Six dead in bus accident

Six persons died in a bus accident in Kavre on Saturday, while 33 others were injured, three seriously. The bus, en-route to Tatopani from Kathmandu, veered off the road and plunged 100 feet below into the Charkhola River, at Pachas Kilo in Hokse VDC. Four of the deceased have been identified as Sarita Shrestha, 45, Sangita Karki, 44, 11-year-old Rejina Thami of Sindhupalchowk, and 22-year-old Swasthani KC of Kavre.

Two of the dead are yet to be identified. Four persons died on the spot and two died during treatment at Dhulikhel Hospital. The bodies have been kept at Sheer Memorial Hospital in Banepa for post-mortem. Phulmaya Thakuri and Yamnath Adhikari and bus driver Arjun Karki have been taken to Kathmandu and Lalitpur for treatment.
