The major three political parties—Nepali Congress (NC), CPN UML and UCPN (Maoist)—have decided to endorse constitution amendment bill pending in parliament on Tuesday taking agitating United Democratic Madhesi Front (UDMF) in confidence.
A meeting of parties on Saturday morning at the prime minister’s residence has also discussed on granting constitutional recognition to the high level political mechanism.
“We discussed on granting constitutional status to high level political committee, added member of three-party taskforce Mahesh Acharya, “We will present it in parliament.”
Acharya said that the meeting also discussed on ending the dispute on demarcation of the provinces.
“We have agreed to endorse pending constitutional amendment bill in parliament on Tuesday after taking Morcha (UDMF) into confidence,” Nepali Congress leader Ram Chandra Paudel who was present in the meeting said.
