Concerned authorities have expressed a commitment to ease supply and availability of petroleum products within seven days.
Secretary at the Ministry of Commerce and Supply, Director General of Department of Commerce and Executive Director Nepal Oil Corporation, among others assured the Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA) of smooth supply today.
To draw attention of the authorities, the anti-corruption constitutional body had called a meeting among the high officials on Friday.
In a statement, the Commission said they vowed to strengthen market monitoring system, punish those who hoard the petroleum products including the cooking gas creating an artificial shortage and inform people about status of fuel supply and distribution.
The CIAA said it will regularly monitor if the commitments are well-implemented.
