Yet another avalanche has swept across the Langtang valley in Rasuwa district on Monday while the search operation continued for the people missing since the earthquake-triggered avalanche that obliterated the entire village on April 25.
According to Chief District Officer (CDO) of Rasuwa, Gautam Rimal, the avalanche occurred at around 9 in the morning, injuring four people in the stampede after the avalanche.
“We’ve learnt that four security personnel have been injured in the stampede following the avalanche,” said Rimal.
Security personnel have reached the Langtang village after a 12-km small road was opened recently via Syafrubeshi, Khamjing, Surke, Sherpa Village, Rimche, Chandham, Riverside, and Ghodetabela.
A Nepal Army team of Narayan Battalion deputed for the security of Langtang National park had reached Langtang village to search for those missing in the avalanche of April 25. The communication completely broke down after the avalanched wiped out the entire village.
