Agreement to close border checkpoint for 48 hour

It has been agreed to shut western border checkpoints for 48 hours from May 7.

A joint meeting of border authorities of Nepal and India on Wednesday took the decision to this effect in keeping with Loksabha election in the Uttaranchal Province of India.

According to the District Administration Office Kanchanpur, both the sides agreed to keep security alert to avoid any possible untoward activities in the border areas and intensify border patrol.

Chief District Officer of Kanchanpur Parshuram Aryal took the leadership of Nepali side while ADM of Champhawat district of Uttarakhanda was from the Indian side.
