Absconding fraud nabbed after two years

Police on Friday arrested a convict of fraud who was absconding after the Kathmandu District Court convicted him two years ago.

Police said Ram Bhakta Thapa (41) of Ugratara-2, Kavre, currently residing in Gaushala of the Capital was held by a team of Central Investigation Bureau (CIB) today.

On March 20, 2012, the Court had slapped him an imprisonment of a year and a fine of Rs 2 million for cheating one Karma Siddhi Lama.

Thapa had taken an amount from Lama assuring him of selling a land. But, later he sold another piece of land of a substandard quality, police said.
