A monitoring team of the Nepal Bureau of Standards and Metrology has sealed eight petrol pumps along Prithvi Highway for selling gasoline short measure. This is the first time that gasoline stations on the highway have been sealed and prevented from doing business, the bureau said.
A member of the monitoring team Prem Raj Balauni said that the pump owners had fixed the meter so that customers were getting 200 millilitres less for every 10 litres of gasoline sold.
The petrol pumps are Trisuldhari at Majhimtar, Ambe Oil at Malekhu, Sadajyoti at Kausaltar, Gangasagar Oil Store at Benighat, Baireni Oil Store and Dhading Oil Store at Baireni, Nripeshwor Oil at Naubise and Bhumeshwor Oil at Bhumeshwor.
