In yet another ghastly crime, a six-year-old girl has been raped in the district.
The daughter of a low-key merchant was raped by an unidentified perpetrator at Madarshatole in Kalaiya Municipality-8 last night.
The minor, who was sitting with her grandmother at their cosmetic shop on Friday evening, had disappeared suddenly at 7 pm. According to the speculation of the victim’s family, the minor must have fallen prey to the clutch of the rapists while she was on her way back home.
Her father had reported to the Bara police after she did not return home. The police did not find her out despite their desperate search. Next day, locals, who were out on their way to dispose their garbage, spotted the minor in an unconscious state near Trichandra Higher Secondary School.
Found in cold leaves and grass after 12 hours, police rushed her to Birgunj-based Narayani-Sub Regional Hospital. With internal bleeding and bruises all over her body, her condition is getting worse. The minor has been refereed to Kathmandu for further treatment. The police have launched a manhunt to nab the culprit, said SP Lokendra Bahadur Malla of Bara District Police Office.
Earlier, on November 22, 8-year-old Kanchan Thakur had been killed after being raped in the same place.
