5.1 magnitude tremor jolts West Nepal

An earthquake measuring 5.1 on the Richter scale jolted western Nepal on Tuesday evening.

According to chief at the National Seismological Centre, Lok Bijaya Adhikari, the quake struck Jajarkot district at around 7:47 this evening. The quake caused tremors in mid-western districts including in Kathmandu. The epicenter of the quake is Bhime VDC in Jajarkot, Adhikari said.

Our local correspondent Bhim Bahadur Singh confirmed that the quake was flet in the district headquarters, Khalanga. Terror-stricken people rushed out of their houses. However, there are no reports of damage to property or injury.
