As many as 397 injured people from various places in Gorkha district have been rescued so far and brought to Pokhara, according to the Western Regional Police Office, Pokhara.
They were rescued and ferried by six helicopters belonging to the Indian Air Force. These helicopters have been flying to various quake-affected places in the district, carrying relief materials, and returning with the injured persons.
The Barpak VDC in the district was the epicenter of the Saturday’s 7.8-magnitude earthquake , Nepal’s second massive earthquake on record.
The rescued persons are currently receiving treatment at local hospitals in Pokhara.
