39 percent pass this year’s +2 exams

The results of the Higher Secondary Education Board (HSEB) of management, education and humanities streams published on Sunday showed that 39.04 percent of students have passed the plus two exams.

Of the total 191,496 students who appeared in the examinations, 74,764 have passed, according to the board. Likewise, 29.99 percent of students managed to clear the exams under the exempted category. Out of 136,155 who took the exams, 40,829 passed the exams under this category.

Meanwhile, the delay in publishing the results has hit hundreds of examinees pursuing higher studies. The results of other streams came out one month late compared to the science stream. The board had published science faculty results on August 30. This year 70.43 percent students passed the grade 12 science exam as against 75.32 percent last year.

The Guardian Association of Nepal had earlier protested at the HSEB demanding the authority to publish the results. The guardians had also handed over green leaves to the Board officials as a satire for the delay. The HSEB had conducted the grade 12 examinations in May.
