32 injured in Biratnagar-bound bus accident

At least 32 people were injured when a Biratnagar-bound bus met with an accident in Lokmarg road section along the East-West Highway on Monday.

The bus (Na 4 Kha 9743), travelling to Biratnagar from Dhangadhi, when the accident occurred near Kanchanpur-based Kanchanpur Barrier, police said.

The passengers were on their way to attend the general convention of the Madhesi Janaadhikar Forum Loktantrik.

The passengers with minor injuries are being treated at the Dharmeshor Hospital, Theliya.

Among them, Bimala Chaudhary, Ram Prasad Chaudhary, Siriya Chaudhary and Hari Krishna Chaudhary of Dhangadhi Municipality-16 were critically injured people are being treated at the Neuro and Nobel Hospital in Biratnagar, informed Police Inspector Gaurav Mahat of the District Police Office, Kanchanpur.

According to Mahat, the accident occurred in an attempt to save a cow in the road.

Police, along with the help from the locals, have rescued the injured passengers.
