At a function organized at Ratnanagar of Chitwan district on Saturday, 307 couples exchanged wedding vows.
Universal Peace Federation jointly with ´World Peace and Joint Family Association´ organized a function to wish the married couples peace, harmony and prosperity.
Chief guest Ek Nath Dhakal, who is also the head of Nepal Family Party, said, “Since couples have to spend the rest of their lives with each other, marriage cannot be taken lightly.”
Dhakal said amid increasing number of couples filing for divorce, such vows strengthen familial ties. “Only ideal parents can set a good example before the kids. It is the responsibility of both the parents to think of the children before anything else,” Dhakal added. At the function, Rachael Halipal of the Philippines congratulated the participating couples. Also present at the program were Hom Bahadur Basnet, Gyan Bahadur Bisural, president of Ratnanagar Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Dr Rewant Kumar Bhattrai and Dinesh Kumar Chuke.
