In a bid to make its upcoming protest program a grand success, the UCPN (Maoist)-led 30-party alliance has decided to collect Rs 20,000 each from its lawmakers on Thursday.
According to RK Khambu, an alliance leader, a meeting of the 30-party opposition camp held at UCPN (M)’s Parliamentary Party office, Singh Durbar, today, took the decision to this effect concluding that Rs 25 lakh would be required to hold a first phase of its series-wise protest programs.
The opposition alliance has a total of 147 lawmakers. The 30-party alliance comprises 19 political parties represented in the Constituent Assembly and 11 parties from outside of the CA.
According to Khambu, the alliance will dot black flags at public places across the country on February 12. It will also hold nationwide demonstrations on February 14 and a huge mass meeting participated by around 200,000 people at Khulamanch, Kathmandu on March 1 as per the protest program.
