As many as 21 cases of rape were reported in Makawanpur district in last nine months.
According to a report launched by the Informal Sector Service Centre (INSEC) in Hetauda, 12 victims of rape were under the age of 15 years.
Three girls and women were raped by own fathers, according to the report.

In addition, two girls and two women survived rape attempts during this period, INSEC said.
INSEC Makawanpur’s Pratap Bista said rape cases were not decreased despite legal prosecution against the victims.
He added that most rape cases were reported from rural areas of the district.
