200 houses in Banke waterlogged

As many as 200 houses in Kohalpur bazaar of Banke have been waterlogged, as water outlets in the areas were blocked in course of the ongoing road expansion.

Moreover, locals in the areas are protesting against the damage caused to physical infrastructure along the road sides, said local resident Yam Bahadur Rawat.  They have blamed the contractors of negligence.

“The houses in the areas were waterlogged after not considering possible outlets for rain water while expanding the roads,” said administrative officer at Kohalpur Municipality Amar Raj Khatri.

However, Yubraj Ghimire, the contractor of Kalika Constructions that is carrying out the road expansion work said none has complained about the problem of inundation to him or his company.
