15 stranded Australians rescued from Thorang Pass

At least 15 stranded people have been rescued by Nepal Army (NA) from Thorang La Pass of Manang district today.

They were stuck in the blizzard that hit the area last week.

All the rescued are known to be Australian nationals, according to DSP Rajendra Babu Regmi of District Police Office, Manag.

Similarly, NA has deployed 10 personnel to Naar and 11 others to Phuma of Manang for the rescue operations.

Till today, 266 trekkers have been rescued from the Annapurna circuit in Manang district, which was hit by blizzard and avalanches.

After the authorities restricted trekkers from crossing Thorang Pass since Friday, the trekkers are returning to Pokhara and Kathmandu through Lamjung.
