Nepal women’s football team won their maiden match against Bangladesh in the 12th South Asian Games 2016 at Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in Shillong of India on Friday.
The women’s national team started the campaign with a convincing 3-0 win in their first match held on the opening day of regional sports jamboree.

Meanwhile, the 12th South Asian Games has formally begun in Guwahati of the southern neighbour.
The 12-day Games will feature 2,500 athletes from eight SAARC countries.
The Games was delayed by four years from its earlier schedule. The 12th edition of the Games was supposed to be held in 2012 in New Delhi, but was postponed due to state elections in the Indian capital.
The Bangladesh capital Dhaka had hosted the last edition in 2010.
Guwahati will host 16 games while Shillong will see the competition in six disciplines.
The first South Asian Games was hosted by Kathmandu, Nepal in 1984.
