At least 115 persons died of HIV/AIDS in Kanchanpur district in last eight years.
District Public Health Office (DPHO) said the disease killed 70 male and 45 female in the period.
DPHO said it found 426 HIV positive people in the district.
HIV Focal Person of the Office, Nanda Raj Awasthi said, the DPHO began keeping records on HIV-infected people since 2006.
Awasthi said most of the infected persons are foreign employment returnees from India and their family members.
Likewise, as many as 48 children born to infected parents also have the infection.
The number of affected persons also includes seven female sex workers and a third-gendered person.
No one in the district is infected through syringe, Awasthi said.
As many as six government and non-government organisations are working in HIV/AIDS in the district.
They are marking the World AIDS Day on Monday with different functions.
