Thanks to the One Rupee Campaign, Dhangadhi-based Seti Zonal Hospital will have the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) within next two months.
The Kailali chapter of Federation of Nepalese Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FNCCI) had started the One Rupee Campaign to pressurise the government for building the ICU at the hospital and get help from locals for the construction.
Now, the construction work is going on rapidly to operate the ICU by mid-June, the health facility informed.
After the campaign started, the government had provided Rs 10 million for building the ICU.
According to the Hospital, a contract of Rs. 3.2 millions has already been signed for construction of infrastructures for the new service. Likewise, the Hospital has begun a process to purchase required equipments worth Rs 6.8 million, Hospital’s medical superintendent Dr. Ganesh Bahadur Singh informed.
The Hospital has sent five staff for training on operation of the Unit.
As the Hospital needs uninterrupted electricity supply to run the ICU, preparations are underway for that also, Singh added.
Under the One Rupee Campaign, different programmes had been organised around the area to collect funds for the construction, FNCCI Kailali president Rajesh BHandari said.
Many organisations and locals have been helping for the construction even these days, he added.
