On April 25, 2015, a 7.9 magnitude earthquake hit Nepal causing widespread damage of property and the human spirit across this beautiful country. The Khumbu / Mount Everest region was hit especially hard as the earthquake triggered avalanches injuring and killing climbers at the base camp of the world’s highest peak.
As organizers of the famous Tenzing Hillary Everest Marathon, HimEx Nepal’s objective is to raise awareness and money through the 2015 edition of the marathon to support the families of the Nepalese climbers who died on Mount Everest in the avalanche AND help the residents of the Khumbu region rebuild destroyed homes, schools and medical facilities.
Along with your generous donations, a portion of all race proceeds directly to local aid organizations focused on supporting the people and rebuilding the infrastructure in Nepal’s Khumbu / Mount Everest region.
Please join us in helping to rebuild and heal hearts in this unique Buddhist community. Donate here, run the marathon or just come visit Nepal and show your support. Thanks for your consideration.
We dedicate this years Everest Marathon Edition as – ‘Run to Rebuild – Khumbu’
