The art exhibition “When Words fail” by Ms. Sara Atzmon is the outcome of a collaboration between the Embassies of Israel and Germany in Nepal and Alliance Française, in association with the UN, to commemorate the International Holocaust Memorial Day. During the week-long exhibition, Ms. Atzmon will be sharing her story as well as showcasing memories of her horrible experience during the holocaust. In addition, different films and documentaries will be shown throughout the day.
Who is Ms. Sara Atzmon ?
She was born in 1933 to a Jewish family in Hungary. In 1944, she was sent to the Bergen-Belsen Concentration Camp in Germany, where she lived under terrible conditions for half a year, barely escaping the fate of being sent to the Auschwitz – Birkenau death camps. Although she survived the Holocaust her father and several of her siblings perished, along with the large number of her relatives. Nowadays, Sara Atzmon, who lives in Israel, educates others about the holocaust and promotes peace and tolerance.
